SopCast SopCast is a program with which users can broadcast or watch video and listen to radio stations or audio from all over the world. The video broadcast is performed by a streaming direct broadcasting system based on P2P with support for ten thousand online connections.
The program is divided into three main sections: Live Channels (stream television channels, sourced from Europe and Asia), Video on Demand Channels (VoD), and MyServer (lets you broadcast media from a computer to other SopCast users).
Apparently there aren’t many VoD channels left over in the world, so most of them won’t work, but users can still download movies. Live Channels do work, and mostly get cartoons from Asia, sports from Europe, and music videos from Latin America.
To create your own broadcast and distribute contents you must register and create an account. What is more, refresh rates are slow, video playback often freezes.
This version is supported by Windows 7 and H.264. H.264 and SHOUTCast broadcasting has been added. Additionally the SopPlayer has been divided into 4 components: SopPlayer (viewer), SopServer (broadcaster), VoD (movies over P2P), and WebPlayer (web viewer).
