Kies Kies is a media library designed for Samsung products. It is compatible with MP3 players, smartphones tablets, and more. It also has other features like the ability to view HD videos or play music directly from the library.
It can import playlists from iTunes and synchronize the device with your PC, thus making the whole organization process a lot easier.
It is rather easy to use, however if you encounter any difficulties you can always view its tutorials. They are very nicely made and explain the most basic functions the library has. If you're looking for some of the more advanced features, you can find them in the help section, which is again, very well-organized.
The interface has a simple design and it is very intuitive to use. The developer really tried to keep things as simple as possible. For example, the video converter is very nicely designed. Some videos might require a conversion before you can play them on your device. Instead of showing all the video formats Kies supports, it only shows the ones which are compatible with the device that's currently connected to your computer.
Another great thing about the program, is that it offers a lot of support. Each time you connect a device to your PC, it will automatically search for new firmware and driver updates. You can also use it to back up your device, and also restore it to an earlier state.
This media library also has a Podcast channel, where you can download many radio segments including news or song mixes for free. You also have the possibility to subscribe to a certain channel, and new segments will be downloaded automatically on your PC.
Considering that most Samsung products don't require additional software in order to transfer files between them and PC, the developers really did an excellent job with Kies. It isn't just a media library, it also can be used as a video and music player, a converter and a great place to get free music, due to its Podcast channel. Overall, it is a mandatory asset for those owning Samsung devices, but it can also be quite useful for people looking just for a free and well-designed media library.

Nokia PC Suite Nokia PCsuite is a program that helps connect a Nokia mobile phone with a computer.
It has a set of features available in it that allows a user to Backup files (on the phone) and synchronize the calendar,contacts,etc.. with the computer.
The Backup Manager, called Nokia Content Copier, can make backups on the PC and restore the backups on the phone.
The Synchronize option synchronizes emails, calendar items and notes with Microsoft Outlook or Lotus Organizer.
The File Manager can read and write data on the phone.
The Music manager can rip and create music files and transfer it to a users´ phone and the My Collection option will show all the music files on the system with tags (like Album, Artist, etc..). This is a new feature included in this version.
The Image Store feature can store in the computer the images taken with the phone's camera.
It has a 'Video Manager that can transfer videos to the phone. In this feature the video manager converts the video into a format supported by the phone.
Moreover the program also has a Phone Software Updater, that searches the net for the latest version of the phone's software and updates it.

Far Manager First of all, NO, the screenshots aren't from the legendary "Norton Commander". YES, I'm sure! OK, I know, it's SO, SO identical! But believe me, this time we are talking about a "new" file manager...its name is Far Manager.
Do you remember the PCs with DOS? Fingers spitting fire with cd/md/del commands? Well, DOS was like that...hard to use, but predictable and without complications. Luckily, Norton Commander came to our lives and made our tasks easier. An excellent file manager with the ability to exploit the capabilities of the text-based screen to their limits.
And years, even decades after the success of this software, we saw many "clones" of this great program, some ones text-based (like the excellent mc - Midnight Commander) or Windows-based (TotalCommander).
Far File Manager is yet another Norton/Midnight Commander: text-based, same shortcuts, almost the same features.
The only thing I can rescue from this program are the 'plugins', pieces of software (DLL-based) that extend the program's features (see the 3rd screenshot).

XYplorerFree XYplorerFree is a tabbed file manager. It has an intuitive interface, yet a large amount of features that have been packed into it make this tool much more difficult to use than Windows Explorer, but at the same time, they make this application worth an extra effort.
Therefore, if you want to take advantage of all the useful features provided, you can study the excellent accompanying help file.
One adjective can describe its interface best: customizable. Most of the visual elements in it can be hidden, shown or minimized to adapt the working space to your likes and needs. There is a usual folder tree at one of the sides, whose nodes you can expand or fold to ease navigation. Perhaps you would like the Mini Tree, a way to have your tree show only those paths you have actually visited. It will help you manage your disk contents when the folder structure has become too large. The Dual Pane mode will let you open two folders side by side. Therefore, it will be much easier to compare or move contents from one folder to another. In addition, each of these panes can have tabs, which allows you to browse several locations at a time, the same way you open various web pages in a tabbed web browser.
This software also features a powerful search engine providing much more parameters than the standard Windows search. You can use three modes: Standard, Boolean and RegExp. In addition, it can find search strings using many conditions, such as Match Case, Whole Words, Fuzzy and Path. Moreover, you can find the desired elements according to size, date, attributes, tags and contents. It also lets you find duplicate files and decide what to do with them.
I especially liked the Report feature, which allows you to list the contents of a given path. It includes several options to show only the directory structure or all contents or to include subfolders as well. These reports can be easily exported to several data formats or sent to a pop-up window, the Clipboard, a file or just straight to a printer.
Perhaps one of the most powerful features built into this application is that it allows you to customize commands. This way, you can automate frequent tasks, which, in the long run, will pay back the additional effort.
In general, XYplorerFree is simply excellent, that's why it is difficult to find something its developer has forgotten to include. Moreover, the application is light and portable. Fortunately, a trial version is available to see if it really works for you.

Unreal Commander Unreal Commander is a two-paneled multilingual file manager. Unreal Commander has a familiar design to Total Commander, as well as similar functionality.
